GAS Mileage/ Power Lose - O2 Sensor??

I have an O/R H-pipe with factory O2 sensors. MY check engine light is on and Ive noticed dramatic gas mileage decrease and lose of power. Which after market O2 is needed to correct this? I heard i need an aftermarket sensor to trick the ecu. Let me know what you think! I have a 98 GT

You need MIL eliminators, get them at steeda etc,,,@60bucks. With the CEL on the computer will go into safe mode and run rich thus the reason for the crappy MPG. Simple install and fix.

i have an o/r h pipe too and the stock 02 sensors. my check engine light has been on since i got the car and i'm still getting around 23mpg average.

but, i have some MIL eliminators on order that should be here to day. they plug inbetween the 02 sensor and the plug going to the ecu and trick it into thinking everythings fine.

Rear o2's will not effect performance or gas mileage, and will not cause it to go into limp mode. Get the codes read to make sure it is only the rears turning the light on. You may have a bad front o2 causing the problem.

Get the codes pulled, and then ask a Ford Tech what they mean. It could be more than just an O2 sensor, cause I just took mine it and they ended up replacing the rear O2 sensor and the MAF. The other way to go is just get some MIL's and hope they work.

Can you actually make eliminators your self? Does anybody know if you can make them with resistors or something (Like a DIY)?

My MIL light has been on for ages and I get 21-24 mpg regularly.
