I sure wish I could figure out how to post the actual pictures!

Let me know what you think.

A speedometer is only good for one thing... keeping it legal and within the posted speed limit. Anything beyond say 80 mph and all I'm watching is the tach!

Any way you could do I little write-up on the project. Especially about how the speedo hooked-up. What's the part# and what trans do you have?

Thanks
Dave

Let me just say that you have an incredibly sexy engine bay....that's freakin hawt!

Gauge cluster is great and all, but I enjoyed the previous 84 pictures a little more

What wheels are those?

If there is interest in a write up I will certainly do one.
The cluster is not from Florida 5.0. Basically I took the original cluster, removed all of the lights and gauges from the back, cut out the back of the white gauge housing, laid out and cut new holes for the gauges in the face plastic, did the same for the new aluminum face, removed the clear plastic cover and trimmed the bezel to fit.

After that it was a matter of fitting and wiring the gauges and lights. No problem.... Right!!!!!!!!

The whole process took about 10 hours after I figured out what I wanted.

Here's a tip for those who want to do this. Get an electric speedo. The mechanical version has a cable input that extends deep into the dash. On the convertible there is a structural cross member that gets in the way. I cut a hole through the cross member large enough to pass the cable through and everything mounted perfectly.

To answer another question... I am running an AOD (not AODE) I removed the computer and so went all the warning lights. The only light I replaced is a low oil pressure light which comes on at pressures below 20 lbs.
