Gauge Cluster Nightmare

Hey guys maybe u could help me. I have an 88 notch 5.0 so it has 85 mph gauges. I got a 1990 guage cluster with 140 mph guages. I took everything apart and put in the new cluster and nothing works. Am I using the wrong gauge cluster. Thanks

The wiring is all different on the 87-89 and 90-93 models. You have to change the wires in most all of the positions to make them work properly. Or pull the 140 speedo out and modify it to fit in the older case. Here is a thread with more info and the wiring diagram showing the differences:

I also swapped out my 85 mph from my 88 GT but used an 89 cluster with a 140 mph. It bolted on with no problem.
