Hey all, have the 3 gauge A-pillar pod from summit. Question is, is that meant to mount over the stock A-pillar or do I remove it? It didn't seem as sturdy as the stock one so I have it mounted over atm, problem is that it doesnt seem to fit exactly right and thus if I look at it hard enough I can see the wires underneath. Problem just an perfectionist problem, but I'd like it to look top notch. Anyone have experience with this ?

If it's a full a-pillar pod, it fits over the stock one. The instructions should tell you that. You drill a hole on each of the corners of the stock a-pillar, and stick those little plastic rivet things on to hold the pillar pod on to it. You can either run the wires along the front of the stock a-pillar but behind the pod, or do like me and drill a hole in the stock a-pillar.. I plan on replacing the stock a-pillar if I ever sell it, but that won't be for a long time.
Apples to oranges here. I have a triple on the '94. I did not want to butcher the stock pillar so I used the pod in lieu of the stocker. I affixed the pod to the metal behind the pillar. I used a tiny sheetmetal screw in the top inside of the pillar (so you need your head up near the instruments to see the screw. The bottom is an interferance fit.
I dont even know what a fox hardtop pillar looks like to know if this could work. I have a dual pod over the stocker on the 88 Vert.

Now that I think of it JT, that's probably an option for the hardtop pillar. My stock pillar on the '88 has a screw near the top holding it on and one near the bottom as well, so I don't see why you couldn't use the entire gauge pod pillar and just affix it with those screws. Good call, I stand corrected.
