I was planning on getting the Autometer Gauge Cage with the vents and I was wondering what gauges I should get, I was thinging Oil pressure and water temp because I heard the stock ones suck. Also I had autometer phantom gauges in my last stang, and I was wondering if I should stick with those or perhaps get somthing else, its hard to choose cause autometer makes so many. thanks for the help

If you get the cage that only holds 2 gauges...

Oil PSI
Water Temp

If you get the cage that holds three

Oil PSI
Water Temp
Gauge of your choice.

As far as the type, it's really up to you. I chose the ultra-lite's. You can see plenty of pictures in my thread a little ways down.

If your 88 is SD, a vac gauge is nice to have.

Otherwise, it is just really up to you.

I found it easiest to just flip through a catalog to find the gauges I liked best. I am old school - I like the gauges like Mike (5L5) has - I think they are Phantoms.

Good luck.

Hey, I just noticed in your photo from the drivers seat that your car is running & up to temperature but you have no voltage reading... Was your gauge unpluged?

Sorry, this is horribly off topic.

Notice that the oil pressure gague isnt showing anything either. The car was prolly shut off not to long before the pics.

If wondering, air core tachs can hold a random reading (often the last reading before the car was shut off, but not always) after the car is off.

The car was off. The tach sets where it was when you shut it off.
