i am running a 347 currently i have 4.10's i like them expect i drive the car on highway alot...i had 3.73's before and i loved them as an all around gear...now my question here is if i go down to 3.73 or even 3.90's how much will it effect my 1/4 times? mph? im running 245 45 16 nitto 555r on street then gt turbines with 26 inch et streets...currently pulling a 1.64 60 foot..

You WILL slow down. You WILL waste money. Keep the 4.10, they're perfect for your heavy vert.
I'll be doing a 4.30 gear once I finish up my suspension. Not afraid of running 2,700 rpm @ 70mph on the highway in my street car

Spend your money on a new manifold. Ditch that restrictive 5500 rpm 302 intake!

yea mike i have been thinkin bout that for a while.....can i just bolt the upper track heat to the lower street heat? the length of the runners are the only difference right? also im gonna step up in injector im running 24#r's and im sure i should go 30...but first i have to fix the rear end...messed something up in there racing sunday...loud clumping noise and when i went into reverse it was stuck till i gave it gas then it freed up...

You can bolt the track heat upper on. I dont think it would be the best choice but it'll be cheap to do. The track runners are 3" shorter.

I'd get that rear fixed first You sure its the rear and not a clutch issue?

yea willys its a 5 speed..tko 600......mike, im not 100% sure cause i havent taken it apart but i had the rear in stands and all the noise is coming from the rear portion of the car....it moves and shifts into everygear theres a clumping noise and feel...when i first happened i tried to shift it into the reverse gear and i went in but wouldnt back up as if the rear was locked..then i gave it a little more gas and it freed itself up

if you do lots of highway driving get a taller rear tire. maybe 2in diamiter bigger should hepl to lower your rpms when driving.
