gear humming

I just got 3.73's installed yesterday on my 88 GT and there was a erratic humming coming from them at around 75mph when I accellerate. it has signinficantly quieted down since I have been driving around but its still there are they just going through the break-in or should I contact the shop that did it?

Could be two things. Either the shop didnt set the lash right, or your drive shaft got turned and thats what is making the vibration. I would think it was the latter. Hope that helps.

so would that also cause the humming, and if the driveshaft was turned what needs to be done? does it need to be re-aligned?

I bet they set the lash wrong. I would bring it back and tell them to fix it. I doubt it is because the driveshaft is turned. I can't see that making any difference whatsoever. I didn't on mine, i have never paid attention to which way it went back on.
