Gear Lube T-5 Question

Hate to ask - is this noise/vibration coming from the 1st used tranny, or the second used tranny? (ref: your other post about the bill)

Doubtful that type of fluid would cause the problem; there are no different 'weights' available in atf that I'm aware of.

I'll certainly second that. I don't believe there are different weights of ATF, and if its red, odds are that it IS ATF. So sadly, I can also give you a pretty good guess that the sounds aren't being caused by your fluid.

Well, if there's a silver lining, it's that your mechanic is getting real adept at switching them out - should serve you well for the 3rd one.....

well it only does it at high rpm tho...this still sucks tho. i have barely any money and definately not enough for a new tranny

So, you're only getting the noises and vibrations at high rpms right? My transmission has been doing the same thing for a couple of years now. It's just a little worse since I got the 3.73s put in. Have you checked your transmission mount for cracks, wear, rips?

yea only at high rpms. well thats kinda good news that youve had that for a year. have you actually looked inside your tranny for any problems or have you just ran with it?

I've just ran it, lol. I thought it was probably the driveshaft for the longest time, so when I had my 3.73's put in I also put in an aluminum driveshaft.....didn't fix it. I just put in a polyurethane tranny mount a couple of days ago, but I haven't really tested it because my car has a miss in it right now that I have to fix.
