Gear Selector Trim Plate Questions

Hey guys! How hard is it to change a gear selector trim plate? This is the plate that surrounds the shifter and oftentimes has a cigarette lighter in it. Just so happens that my cig lighter housing won't stay up, so I'd like to purchase a new one that will

Are automatic and Manual trim plates the same?

I removed the one in my 96 GT a couple times and it was really easy. Just grab and pull and disconnect the cigarette lighter plug in wire.

You do have to have the shifter (if auto) in 1 or 2 to be able to clear, or you can just manuever it around.

If it has never been taken out before, it will probably be on there pretty tight- but it will eventually come off.

I don't think the shifter trim plates are the same for the auto/manual.
