gear whine, similer to other post

this just started happening the other day anfter i downshifted into 2nd. now, when i drive and maybe do 3/4 throttle, and dont shift until 4k or so, iw will rattle at 3k. if i keep it there it keeps rattling. but if i just keep pushing the gas and dont stop at 3k, i still get some whining rattling going on, but not as much as if i kept it at 3k. also, when in 3rd, anything above 3k sounds like a have a supercharger. this was happening right after i installed my triax, but i figured it was because i removed that rubber gasket thing and could hear more sound. however, i have never heard the whiney rattle in 2nd. ideas?

My Tri-Axe whines as well. Like you, I've got no gasket between the shifter and the tranny. As far as the vibration goes... climb up under the car and give your driveshaft a good shake rattle and roll to see if there's any play in the U-joints.

You'll probably tell me "It didn't do it before (fill in the blank)." but something similar happened to me. If the vibration became noticable after recently removing and reinstalling the drive shaft then the u-joints are suspect.
