Well the restoration project is going on full force. Back seat ripped out and reupholstered, and the fronts will be done Monday (Waiting on addition Hog Rings for the seats). Carpet should be in Tuesday and there's just little odds and ends left. Well now onto performance. I'm not looking for something to be un-streetable, but I do want something fast. I've got a 625 Road Demon and an Edelbrock intake for the 2v Cleveland, but I'm a little dissapointed. It takes a little while to start making power, and it may be due to my rear gears. It's a '70 Grande, and I have yet to check, but I'd be willing to be they're under 3.00's.

How much performance will I see if I go with 3.55's or 3.73's?
Are 3.73's too much?
What does it take to convert my rear to Trac-Lok?

If anyone is looking to sell gears for the nine inch let me know. Anyone know any other cheap performance tricks?

Thanks. Carlo.

You can find some pretty cheap 9 inch posi's on ebay. I think i remember seeing some that wre around $400, with gears of your choice, rebuilt trac lock, and ready to bolt in. Im guessing ou don't have an over drive tranny? IF so, i wouldn't go over 3.55's. Thats what i have in mine now with a c4, and 3000 rpm at 60mph gets old fast. Another thing u might want to consider is a good higher stall.

If you're replacing gears, rip the axles out and count the splines.
