Gears & Converter, need help

now I have 3.73 with a PI Converter and I'm sending my converter back to high the stall raised up to 3200rpm. Now it more like 2400rpm because the blower is no longer on it, was a 2800rpm with blower.

The car will see track and street time, 60% street and 40% track. I was thinking of the following:

4.10 with 3200rpm Stall Converter
4.30 with 3200rpm Stall Converter

My fear with 4.30 is I don't know what my rpm will be at crossing the finish line with 26" tall tires.

Any pros or cons with either setup?

Thanks
Kurt

I'm running 4.30 gears with a 3000-3200 stall converter from Precision Industries in my car. I drive it everyday with no problems at all. As for at the track, I still have yet to get to the 1/4 mile track. Theres none locally and the closest one will be about a 3-4hr. drive. Go figure. I'm looking at your signature. Are those times what you're running now ? If so, and looking at that trap speed, I dont think you'll have to worry about running out of gear in 3rd gear with 4.30's. Least not with the level of power you have now. What is your rev-limiter set to now that its n/a ?

My rev limiter is set at 6500rpm and yes they are my current times. I'm crossing the finish at 5200rpm lol
I see you have about everything I wanting to get, LT headers, pullies, CAI, etc... I'm hoping for more HP with those mods plus I'm looking at the Comp Cam EX262AH.
So 3K stall seems fine then, that what I like to hear, a lot of guys are recommending 3500-3600rpm stall.

A 3500-3600 stall would be fine as well. Just its going to be a bit more harsh around town and on the street as the higher the stall, the more rpms it takes to get going. However, it will help you out at the track. I guess the choice is yours.
