Gears VS. Gas Mileage

In the city it COULD be better, that is if you dont get on it, because you could get into a higher gear, and still have the torque to get around...on the highway is the only time you'll see a difference, because you'll be driving at a higher RPM, but its not going to be THAT big of a deal.

I went from 2.73 gears to 3.55 gears. I drive about 70% highway and 30% city. I lost about 1 mpg. (maybe less)

But also during the swap I had all new axles, differential, seals, bearings installed, so that probably helped out also.

My gas mileage actually got better when i put in the 4:10's because now i'm in 5th much more often. Most of the time i used to cruise in 4rth because when i shift to 5th, the rpm's would drop rediculously low cuz of that damn overdrive. I get about 15-16mpg now in city driving. About 18-20 highway.
