I have converted my religion after 3 Camaros. I have seen the light. No wi remember why I despised the 5.0 in the 80's. This was the result. ANY input would be appreicated. This is my first Pony. so I am somewhat unfamilar with Ford or the 5.0L. But I'm hoping that you will confirm I did my home work properly:

1984 Ford Mustang 5.0 (pre-EFI seem simple and in most cases faster)
112K original miles on car
Immmculate interior
custom electric blue paint ($2,000.00)
ROH 16" wheels (Snyper 4-lug)
Cooper Z245/16-50's
'93 rear 8.8" w/ FRPP 3.55's
upper and lower control arms
Koni shocks
Eibach springs
front and rear sway bars
welded sub-frame connectors
strut tower brace
world class t-5 w/ centerforce clutch
Hurst short throw
Poineer CD player with 400W amplifier and 2 10" speakers in trunk (8 in all)
Auto meter tach w/ shift light

AND NOW THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE.....

Jasper Stage II bracket racing long block
9:1 compression
custom ordered with World Product Aluminum 180cfm Windsor Lite heads
and Comp roller cam 216/224 @ 0.50 545/555

Holley 670 cfm carb.
Edelbrock RPM intake
MSD ignition
Chrome valve covers / air cleaner
Braided lines / blue ignition wires
MAC 15/8" headers
MAC off-road H-pipe
Flowmaster cat-back 2 1/2" (stainless)

This car doesn't only look like a million bucks, but its by far the fastest car I've ever driven. I'm still having trouble launching from a standstill with street tires, only get traction rolling. I'm not very good with this tranny yet, but I decided to do a zero to 60 today. I was armed with a digital stopwatch. First gear began to spin, so I had to back off a bit and shift, losing some precios clicks. The clock still read 5.0 flat with my inexperience.

This motor dynos at 400hp and revs to 6000 rpm. I estimate deep 12's with street tires when I master the beast.

I already had two people offer to purchase the car and I've had it two days.

Thank you for your attention.

Traction is a problem with most Mustangs that have any additional power. Some time working on your launch technique well help, along with some sticky tires. Nitto & BF Goodrich make some very good sticky tires, but the soft rubber compounds are only good for about 8-12K miles before they wear out.

The trick with street tries is to launch about 1500-1800 RPM and watch the adding the power. If you do it right, you get more go & less wheelspin.

I'd say you might have to get some Nitto's for the street if you want to hook up at all. The only problem is they won't last as long as regular street radials! But at least you don't have a Camaro anymore!!!
