Getting Bossy

Oh except the trunk top is painted black as well as the spoiler and around the GT logo on the back of the car between the lights.

The decklids were painted on the 70 Boss, but not the '69, so that's why I opted not to do it. Also, it was my understanding from research that 69s didn't always have a hood scoop or shaker, but the 70s did. Since I didn't want to do that (yet), I went with and stuck to the 69 theme.

I'd sure love to see pictures of the dealer kits you have on the lot though. I'm curious...

That car looks really nice. It's cool that people can fix up their stangs in different ways and they still look great. I have a stupid question though, and sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it. My eyes are still sleepy! Anyway, did you have to order those stickers and put them on yourself, or is there a shop, or the dealer do it for you? Anyway, great looking car, man! :nice:

Simplicity is what makes your car stand out.. Nice choice in choosing your theme.. The less the better.. Although a scoop on the hood would look nice, it looks outstanding because you have kept it realistic.. :nice:

Also, I have spotted the link to the stripes.. Thank you Sir!

I just want to inform you to prepare yourself. Make sure you have good liability insurance.. This is because once you put the Black 18" Bullits on the car, ("deep dish in the back if you can") people are going to be breaking their necks to figure out exactly what their looking at! :D

Saw that today as I prowled the area around town. Heads turning like "What the heck is that...".

I wish I had the bucks to get the wheels and tires on the car to complete the ride now, but it looks like it will have to wait until Christmas bonus time, and given it will be garaged most of the winter, I may even hold off then until March or so--I'm still waiting for a decent rear glass louver kit to come on the market anyhow. We have an 86 GT that we just picked up and will start refurbishing over the winter, so I think most of my cash will be going into that project for a while.

You use Ebay? If so, no need to put it off for so long.. If you frequent this section of Ebay, I am sure you can find something below $1000 dollars to complete the project before Christmas..

I sure would hate to have to wait until next march to see Bullitts on your car.. Its not fair!! You should have never teased us! :D LOL!! HEHEHEHE!!

I'll take some pictures at work tomorrow but they're pretty much the same as yours just with the trunk paint I mentioned....oh and the $36k price tag.

6K for paint/vinyl? You have GOT to be kidding? What state? I've seen a markup of $1000 recently, but I got mine for $500 LESS than sticker off the lot (well, off the truck, as it had just rolled in). I'm in rural Carroll County Maryland...

Good point, and it IS killing me, trust. But at my age (47) I tend to live on cash where I can. I have credit, of course, but never use it unless I can pay things off quickly. The wheels I want are from Wheel Vintiques (http://207.201.148.65/carshow_media/billet/001.htm) and they are about $450 each. That's a lot but they are very close replicas of the real thing. I'd like 18x9f and 18x10r, but haven't really thought what tires to put on them. I am not a fan of very low profile tires on this vehicle. One of the nicest I've seen had 18" NITTO 255s on the front and 275s on the back, but I don't recall the other dimension.

My guess is I'll need about $1600 for the wheels, and $1000 for the tires.

But now that you mention it, my 18 YO son lives off ebay for his car parts (04 Mustang), so let me ask him to do a search for me--thanks, I hadn't really thought of going through eBay for the wheels. I'm pumped!

Only the trunk/spoiler was painted. The hood decal and side swoops were stickers. Well, regular GTs are marked up to $34k or $35k here in New Mexico but this "Boss" one was $36 and some odd change. The Saleens are pushing $50k and they're actually selling!!

I would rather wait two or three months and save $11k on my GT than pay $35. Thats just stupid.

What does this say about the intelligence level in New Mexico? LOL!! You guys must have some damn good salesman Pliskin! It would be cheaper for people to fly out of state and buy a GT, than to buy it in NewMexico.. I just dont seem to understand whats going on down there.. Is there something in the water?

for wheels, you know they make the magnum 500 wheels for our cars now dont you? in 18x9.

Dammit, please bring your car to the Mt. Airy muscle car cruise'in next weekend (as long as it's not raining), you're right up the road!! I bet you and my son (he's 19) would get along. He has an '04 Mustang and an '86 GT project car. The locals usually have 10-12 Mustangs there every other week.
