Going to Visit Fred Wed at Steeda to get their Zinc Full SFC's put on..

Any Do's and dont's to be aware of....My only concern now is that my car is lowered and the kit is on, and I just got the front bumper chin repainted, so Im hoping there is no issue getting it up on the lift.

I've been waiting over a year to do this, hopefully, it will be worth the $$$

Thanks
RC

Jeez, it's about time.

I try not to deal with Steeda if I can help it but they're a reputable enough company that they should know what they're doing RC. Really, the main thing is to make sure they're welded on with the suspension loaded but I believe we talked about that before.

It's amazing how you were the first to reply Dan.
It took so long because of the fee...$200 for the welding..but they said it's custom fit to the shape of the undercarriage...

Besides, Im tire of these rinkidy dink shops that save me $50, then I have no Recoures if there is a prob. I know if there is something wrong at Steeda, they will take care of it...And I think the Zinc Full lengths are prolly the best ones you can buy.
Thanks
RC

Especially since I haven't been on SN in a few weeks. I must have sensed a chassis related question.

Well then, . I tip a beverage in a southerly direction. If I'd started posting when I bought the car, I might have as many as you. Of course, seeing as how you still joined 9 months after me, you'd still be Et Whore Supremo (say it with a Latin accent to get the full affect).

And speaking of post whoring, I'm done for the night (another 3 posts in the bank; Cha-ching!). If I plan to go running before work, I need to get to sleep.

When you get the SFC's done, post them pics. We'll compare purchases (hint hint).

Dont be too sure, I have a buddy that had a 2001 GT with the Steeda front lip. The lip fell off and they gave him a new lip but didnt pay for the paint. A few weeks later it happened again and they basically said that he was mis-treating because its made for street use and it came off on the track or something like that. And its not like he was trapping 1248781347 mph either, it was a almost stock GT. Good luck and make sure its installed on a drive on lift. I didnt know that till after I had them on but I havent had a problem yet but people say it will **** with your alignment and such, Those SFC are gonna make a hell of a difference in your car.

Please tell me for $200 bucks that they are going to do a frame alignment.
To get my full length SFC welded in and have the frame aligned first was $200 bucks at BRADS CUSTOM AUTO in Seattle.

And please let me explaine about frame alignments before installing SFC.
If your car has more than 50,000 miles on it then it has probley hit a curb or has been driven real hard, than your frame is probley tweaked a little.
If you install your SFC on a tweaked frame then you will just be adding problems and you will never be able to fine tune your set up. It will always pull to one side or have tire problems.
I have raced cars that have had there frame aligned before SFC were welded on and have driven cars that had SFC welded in with no frame alignment and you can sure tell the differance.

I've never had a problem with Steeda. Yea there prices are high but they pretty much know what they are doing. They also have just about everything in stock.

And if you truly believe that, you need to do MUCH more research, beginning with a Mustang chassis, and ending with the idiot who gave you that information.

Rob, your paying the Floridian equivalent of the common Delaware prices.

Florida price = DE price + 50 bucks. It sounds pretty fair to me...

I spent 150 to have my Steeda Full Lengths welded in a couple weeks ago...he took out the interior so thats why it took longer. 180 isnt such a bad price for steeda im sure, i bet they take out the interior too.

Thanks for all of you who have replied...

Unfortunately, Im going tomorrow morning, and I pretty much ran out of "research" time. One of Steeda's main notarieties is suspension mods. Im just trusting that they know what they are doing. Joe and Five-o Tony both know a few dudes there, including Fred, who is the one Im dealing with.. Their ACTUAL price is $150 for the F.L. Zinc plated SFC, and $210 for welding.. They give us 10% off from the local Mustang group we're in. Fred said that he needs the car for about 3 hours, because the welding process for those F.L. is a "detailed" process.. IM assuming that means that they do all the necessary precautions and procedures..
Thanks to all those with advice and suggestions, and I will DEFINITELY let you know tomorrow evening how they feel..

Thanks Again!!!

RC You are gonna love the handling difference. You made a good choice going there to Steeda they will take care of you. I wouldn't worry about any of your issues with clearance and enjoy those babies!

Thanks JR..

Travis: I have been saying I would get these for over a year.. I saw the short ones on Ebay for about $79, then I figured for about $50, I could have them welded, but after doing some research and getting a lot of advice from Dan (Baglock), I decided to splurge and "go for the good stuff", and be done with it, kinda like I did with the PI Stallion.

IM hoping to meet Joe over there so we can hop on over to Harbour Freight while the work is being done.

Thanks
RC
