Getting ready to start the project

I have a simple question, though. I'm assuming that any front suspension work will be a lot easier to perform with the engine out of the car. Is this correct? The engine will be pulled for paint work and I figured it would be a good time to take care of the front end.

One would have assumed that this was one of the easier question's out there.

Actually its alot easier to replace the k-member and a-arms with the engine in the vehicle, j/k. Of course it is going to be easier to do some front end work without the engine in it. Without the load though, you will not be able to set up the alignment correctly.

Well, the alignment can be done after the engine is back in, can't it? Or would it just be better off to wait until the engine is back in. I may just go and replace all the old stock bushings when the engine is out.

Yeah, the alignment can be done once you put the engine back in. You might need to load the suspension when you torque everything down. I'm not exactly sure. Some vehicles require pre-load on the suspension when you torque down the bushings.
