getting the light switch off?

Wanted to get to the instrament cluster and the headlight switch is a bear....secrets for success???????looking into the white face replacements.....found this on...yes EBay---about 27.00 bucks looks like a decent kit that allows to dim these by them selves or with the rest of the lights, light swith first....thanks crew......

Pull it all the way out like to turn on the lights...look at the side facing the driver's side door...you will see a little slot...there is a little clip that you need to depress and push away from the dash as you pull the knob...a small flat screwdriver (like the kind you would use to fix eye glasses) is usually about the right size...put the end of the screwdriver into the slot and push it towards the end of the knob as you pull out on the knob...about the only way I can describe it I guess...
