i finally decided to go with 17x9 (or 8?) cobra r's. so where should i get them, and where can i get ones that are 9 inches wide, i want them to be 9 casue i think 8 would be too narrow and make the sidewall too odd or whatever. will that fit? should i get them somewhere that comes with tires? what kinda tries shoud i get? what size? how much would it be to have them ballanced and mounted ( i can jack up each corner and put each one on) thanks.

edit: silver, not chrome or polish.

Why would you buy 4 lug 95 Rs? They are the most common wheel ever for a Mustang. I see more R's then I do Ponies anymore. It's sad.

I am with you! I thought the Author of the Post is talking about wanted 5 Lug wheels for his car, IMHO there is nothing uglier on a Fox Mustang than some Cheesy 4 Lug Knockoffs of a 5 lug wheel!

what else is out there in the way of 4 lugs then?

I think the best looking 4-lug wheel right now are the ROH 'ZS' & 'ZS Racing' ... 17x8.5 fronts and 17x9.5 for the back ... both offset and designed specifically for a 4-lug fox.

Other than that the AFS Cobra's in 17x8 and 17x9

having 4 lugs is like having leapersy here. A 4 lug car is everybit as fast as a 5 lug car. These guys will crap on your parade for getting some knockoff cobra r, but until they choke up cash for more mods, judt do what you can man. I got some off ebay about a year ago. They are holding up super. I got a 17x8 F and 17x9 R with 255-40s all around. They are so much better than stock wheels and 60 series tires its not funny. Plus the cash I saved on the wheels allowed me to spend money on other mods like rearend upgrades, MGW shifter, new Holley 4bbrl carb, suspension upgrades, etc. Yeah I coulda bought $1500 wheel tire combos and still been just as slow as any other un modded stang out there.

get your 4 lug wheels and dont worry about the 5 lug snobs out there. Youll still look clean riddin in your stang!

No offense to anyone here but if you wanna be truely different from the pack, sell that aero nose car and buy a stang thats a bit less common. I see more 87+ stangs than I do any year stang with cobra Rs. lol Only more common is the damn edge stangs...

Why would you want to spend $1500 on a wheel/tire combo when you can do it for half and use the other half for other Mods?

I work at America's Tire Co. I dunno if you have one closeby where you live, but they have the best prices. They can order you the rims, mount them and balance them for about $1250. That also includes road hazards, lifetime balancing and rotations, and certs for replacement. Remember, if you order it all online, such as ebay, and bolt them up yourself, your screwed it you get a non repairable flat tire or have a blowout. The best bang for the buck and most common tire for the cobras are Hankooks. If you have the money, I strongly recommend the BF Goodrich G-Force KDW. They are INCREDIBLE tires. Or for less expensive there is the G-Force KD and Sport. Go 17X9 in the rear and 17x8 in the front. Too wide of a tire on foxes will result in rubbing in sharp cornering unless you get some ridiculous wheel spacers (Strongly NOT recommended). Going through a tire shop is the way to go. You never know when your gonna drive through a construction zone and get a nail in your sidewall. Now your out $200. And regardless of what anybody says. Cobras look awesome on foxes regardless or 4 or 5 lug. But if you do bolt them up your self... torque specs are 100ft/lbs
