Glassback Roofs.....

i would never buy that set up. you lose all your structural integrity when you cut the roof off. with the glassback, you dont cut into the side pillars that ARE THE REINFORCEMENTS. the glassback could actually make your car more rigid and safe, as it would become a structural component like the windshield and backglass.

Before you buy that. Think about getting more structural reinforcement for the car. Many years ago a friend of mine cut the roof of his car like that. And did not add any reinforcement to the frame. The result was a very comical occilating motion. While driving down the road the passenger cabin area would flex up and down.

thats pretty much what i was explaining in post #2. it would be the worst thing i think you could do to your car as far as safety is concerned.

As far as safety is concerned. I couldn't tell you a lot about it. Other than I imagine the passenger compartment would collapse a lot easier. I just remember it being very funny watching the car wobble down the road. And him coming over to my house. Saying "I really should have thought about it before cuttingthe top on a unibody car!" He did it while in highschool. And now is a structural engineer.
