Gobal west new coil over set up , is better then the rest

This is the new coil over set from GW . I an planning on install a coil over but, I an un decided as to which system to use .

The photo below shows the latest new kit, a coilover system for 67-73 Mustangs. It also shows our category 5 disc brake kit. There are two different coilover systems available: Street with an emphasis on drag racing or we change the geometry and go street with an emphasis on road racing. Factory suspension travel is maintained with 7 inches of travel. Note: Other coilover kits on the market cut the travel to short, 4 ½ inches. Wheel rates are vastly changed and shock control is greatly improved.
Other features are
· Adjustable ride height
· 2 ½ inch id springs are used which provide a wide spring rate selection
· Different shock options are available from no adjustment to fully adjustable bump and rebound.
· Stock spindles can be used whether drum or disc.
· Kit only requires 6 to 10 holes to be drilled for installation depending on which kit is ordered.
· No cutting or welding required.
· Control arms are powder coated

The kit comes complete with the following components.
· Tubular upper control arms fully assembled with the following – billet upper control arm shafts, Del-a-lum bushings, and performance upper ball joints.
· Tubular lower control arms fully assembled with spherical bearings and performance ball joints.
· Adjustable strut rods featuring special clevises for proper frame indexing and Teflon lined rod ends
· Front shocks complete with adjusting rings and spanner wrench
· Special billet lower shock mounts
· Special billet upper shock mounts
· Billet engine compartment shock mount tower covers
· Assorted hardware

Alignment instructions are also furnished with each application.

Prices very with shock and spring combinations.

Cliff, I saw that setup mentioned in a corner-carvers post of yours I believe (I lurk there 'cause I have only a 'throwaway' addy). Anyways, it looks like a nice setup, not sure where the '6-10' holes would have to be drilled though.

Couple of problems though....
I know this was discussed heavily on CC, but your spelling and grammar have not improved... secondly I'm not sure what kind of post this is. It seems like you are asking questions about what kind of coilover kit to buy. You say you are undecided on which kit to use, but you don't list any other kits. You don't outright ask for any recomendations and I guess that you are hoping others will post options.

As far as I know, there is the Fatman Fabrications one (ebay mustang), the RRS kits (aussies), dolfan87's kit on here that he's workin' on, and possibly the TCP type through Unlimited Performance until the company that bought the TCP rights is up and producing them again. Oh yeah, and Griggs if you want to drop 6 grand.
To tell you the truth, by not really asking any questions (i.e. what do y'all think about this kit, does this kit look good? etc.) it almost seems like a bad GW advertisement. The question you ask (sentence 2 of 2) has to be yanked and pulled at to make sense.

Hope you were able to get something usefull out of all that.

There is no reference to this new kit on their website. I would wait on an official announcement before becoming too excited. I would love to see a good and inexpensive bolt-on front suspension solution. Thus far either cost or engineering and occasionally both have been lacking.

P.S.

Cliff,
Please, work on your writting. The guys over on CC really let you off the hook. Your information would be received in a better light, if you took a few minutes to clean up your posts.

Again thanks for the interesting information. :)

E=mc ð only a mine with Dyslexia could have figure out. Albert has it bad. Dyslexia that is and so do I, even spell check gets confused any way.

My 65 has the UCA doped 1 in. if reminder GW dopes their UCA 1 5/8. I an not real crazy about drilling any more holes in tower maybe making a adapter plate would work. Any thoughts on how to make it.

As I said on CC.com.........."Damn Cliff, you need some help." If you can't take the time to type, you may not take the time to do a job right on your track car. I wouldn't ride in a car you built, if you built it like you type.

And another from CC w/ the suggestion to work on your writing! Okay, enough piling on...

I've done the R & C Motorsports MII front end on my 66 'vert; and EVENTUALLY we'll get the car on the road...but it is a 600+HP toy, w/ narrowed leafs, not the ultimate 'corner-carver'. But I have a 65 2+2 that is going to be a bit more practical (350-400hp!) w/ more emphasis on building an all around performance vehicle (enjoyed blitzing the wife's WRX through the "35 mph" curves this morning at 60-65)...so I have been reading everything I could find on various approaches.

A STRONG consideration for me has had relatively little discussion: Gary Martz' reworked MII front/coil-over rear suspension. Gary is a fabricator/race car driver par excellance, who has a tremendous reputation out there. He has been working on this stuff for a long time, and has worked out systems for 1st generation Mustangs and [boo, hiss] Camaros. In talking with him, he really impressed me with his knowledge of racecar suspension needs. At the 40th Anniversary Mustang show in Nashville, the car I would have taken home was the Year One car w/ his suspension (and a Kenne Bell blown 4.6 Cobra motor)...wasn't the prettiest, or nicest (like, for example, Troy Trepanier's Fastforward Fastback), but had the MECHANICALS that I would LOVE to drive. The car was driven at Road Atlanta by Hot Rod [or some similar publication] shortly before the event...a report should be published soon. Anyway, he was able to discuss in significant detail such issues as camber gain and characteristics needed for various types of racing. So...another consideration for the "all around car" type of vehicle...or, as I've recently heard, "Pro Touring".

dont wanna sound stupid but what is the CC site you guys are referring too. I feel like Im missing something good.
They're refering to www.Corner-Carvers.com Lots of great tech. I highly recommend checking the place out as you can find a lot of information. However, before you register and above all, before you post, read this thread (Required Reading for The New Guys) completely. I mean everything, including the links that are provided. If not...well...you can't say you were not warned.

also if you are gonna post on CC you need to AT LEAST be able to understand what you are asking about and be ready to get slammed a LOT if you ask a "stupid" question. oh and if you post something there be prepared to back it up with "solid tech" unlike some people who "hang out" here who just say this is my combo, it works for me and i don't want to hear about it if you don't like it, if you do you won't last long over there.

There is a lot of good stuff on this thread on c/o set ups for early mustangs. Some of the GUYS there take some cheap shout on me, so you need to read the whole thing to get meat and potato’s.
Thank for all come back guys

he said he suffers from Dyslexia why jump all over him?

Did not get that till just now. Thank you, and I'm sorry Cliff. I like that GW set up with the screw in ball joints. Mounting the spring on the lower arm makes a lot more sence. My deal is to use what Ford gave us. That's why I re-do the stock stuff. The top mount GW came up with is much better than some of the other coil over set up's I have seen. I like the idea of using the upper spring saddle for the top of the coil over if your going to use one. I have found that using a roller spring perch, heim joint strutt rods and a lower arm with a spherical bearing on the inside pivot works very well. It free's up the suspension so the springs and shocks can do there stuff. Way better than the stock stuff and doesn't cost much more if you can cut and weld.

Again Cliff I am sorry for my past post's

Don’t give it a second though, john.
I can cut weld and grind.

I have extremely high IQ and I can match wit’s with any body, but that’s not what is thread is about

I love your system, it leaves tire money. But I have always had my heart set on c/o so with that in mind tell me In a perfect world with stock fenders and stock tower for a road racer how would build it. A C/O that is. :D

Need Info

Does any body have the Angel of the ball joints for a 65 & 66 on G/W set up and the drop on the UCA?
Also need to know how long from the center of the ball joint the center of mounting shaft.

fast is what I DO BEST :D

That kit looks awesome. I love the upper shock mount.

We are still working hard on our set-up, so at least there will be some selection on the market for everyone.

Thanks for the e mail Cliff!

any more info or test results? Also does the "estimated price" seem to be holding true?
