Screw it I'm gonna buy it, even if I only use the throttle body for now. The price is right.

I had one of the first TF street heat 5.0 intakes in 99 and it was great, no problems at all. Not sure about BBK throttle body though, I have an accufab.

Well it all started with my stock (194,000 mile) throttle body sticking, I thought it was the cable at first. I looked on Craigslist and fb marketplace and finally offer up. A new bbk was $200.00 and then today being my day off I surfed the ads and found an ad only minutes old.I'd like to post it but can't figure how to on this kindle.

Hold your finger on the page and two blue dots will appear, manipulate the dots to include what you want then hit copy at the top of the page, go to where you want to post it and hit the text box till the blue dot appears, hit it again and it will say paste, hit that and it should show what you copied, takes some practice.

It's too nice for me,I know nothing about those intakes, and I've never read anything about bbk throttle blade screws coming loose.
Wait, that sentence was too long.
I know nothing.
That covers it.

Well it's mine now. And as far as the BBK screws , this guy ran 10 lbs. boost and they never moved. The 347 Dart block with turbo made over 700 hp with these.
I was impressed by how immaculate his garage was, and his three rangers. New the intake, throttle body, egr spacer, and one inch spacer is over$1100.00.
So the $250.00 I paid ," I call that a bargain ,the best I ever seen"

I was cleaning up the intake and guy I got it from did some turbo mods to it.
The pcv was glued to the grommet, grommet glued to intake.( He said the pcv would launch like a rocket under boost)
The egr spacer has coolant tubes removed and taped for plugs( see pic)
Also on pass side near #1 runner where water pipe screws in,he put a smaller fitting and had it plugged.
I got a little work to due.

The only issue I've heard of with BBK throttle bodies is their tendency to whistle at or near idle.
I've read you can remedy this by drilling a small hole in the butterfly plate.
I have a 75mm BBK and yes occasionally it will whistle just off idle but never enough to bother me
some day I may drill it.

I've had the bbk whistle for years and after chasing this for months this is the first I've heard of drilling the tb blade.
I would think this can cause a problem with the iac's ability to adjust idle.
I do know some have had success rounding off the sharp edges around the opening for the egr valve. I will experiment when I get my crap back together and the whistling begins.

Let us know if the TB whistles with the IAC. I could tell you how to avoid it, but I do not mind the F# at idle from the BBK TB.

I heard the whistle over drone-masters and no cats, but I also heard the recalled or warrantied MSD ignition coil buzzing. That was coil sound was ugly enough it got replaced quickly.
BTW, the new MDS coil has been silent and has worked great. If it goes, I will look for an OEM, Motorcraft or Borg one and put a coil cover over it on the car. But I’m not replacing something that works and looks good right now.
