came across a local ad today for a set of GT40 heads (already called the guy and he's not sure which version other than they are iron), crane gold roller rockers, 7 out of 8, 347 stroker pistons and rods (apparently soon to be x-wife threw the 8th one and damaged it), FRPP aluminum valve covers, and a few other misc parts which he couldn't remember for the low low price of $375.

seem like a decent price????

I'd say so.

Heads maybe 200-250
Rockers 100
Valve covers 80ish
Everything else is just bonus.

so i went to look at the "goods" last night and left with my money in my pocket. all of the parts other than the heads were in an egg crate just thrown in there. the roller rockers werer in there but you had dig through all of the junk that was in there to even look at them. the pistons were in there as well, and i noticed the top of them was COMPLETELY black with chunky buildup on them. i asked him how long they had been in the car...."oooohhhh, maybe 3 runs".....really? the 302 i have sitting on the stand has 186,000 and the pistons look GREAT compared to his. anyway, i should have asked this BEFORE i went to look at the heads so i would have been better prepared. but i couldn't find any markings on them that suggested they were GT40s? i thought they had a casting in them somewhre that said "GT40" or "GT" or something along those lines. i could have missed it because they were quite rusty. the only casting numbers i could see on them was there was "E" followed by some numbers and very large "T" near the center of the head. those markings were on top of the head near the valves. is this guy trying to pimp his E heads as GT40 heads?

Gt-40 and GT-40p heads have three or four vertical bars on the outside front...where the accessories would bolt up.

From what I remember my GT40P's didnt have a E or a T on them, I bet he just pawning of E7TE heads as GT40's and I bet the pistons are stock too.

that's what i'm figuring as well at this point. especially after seeing the different casting numbers that should have been on there somewhere. i'm tempted to call the guy and ask if they have the 3 or 4 lines, but i don't remember seeing them. "these things will make your car RUN" is what he told me if i remember correctly...

Sounds like he was pawning off junk parts.

Gt40p say it on them.....gt40 will say "gt" in the rocker valley
