Good Carburated Intake

What is a good carburated intake for the street, right now i have an open plane high rise intake on my 85. Looking for a good street intake since i dont go to the track.

I am really happy with my duel plane high rise edelbrock RPM performer intake. It flows really well on the low end and top end. I noticed a lot more quicker RPM's on the low end

If you want a GREAT intake you should run the Stealth from Weiand. It's the best intake you can get for a street machine. I have one for a SBC sitting in my garage also. (sold the F-body to get back into mustangs)

I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM, I think its a dual plane, but I like it. It got the car into the 12s, and it idles and drives nicely.

The Performer RPM Air Gap is supposed to be the current top of the line street/performance manifold.

Check out the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake. Seen this intake on several cars with very good results.

have a 585 crank horsepower shelby on an air gap, and the bottom car in my sig ran an air gap. great stuff!

It would be nice to know more of your engine and drivetrain spec's to really narrow down what would work best for you, but you did say your looking for street use and you dont go to the track so I imagine your running a pretty mild setup. For street/strip engine combo's I've alway's liked the Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap. It's a great dual plane intake that of course is going to give you great low and mid range power like most dual plane intakes, but at the same time it perform's great (Similar to a Single Plane) at higher RPM's up to around 6500. Edelbrock rates them at a power range of 1500-6500RPM. I'd say probably the best most innovative intake on the market today and there decently priced.

I have a set of aluminum Ford Racing SVO Y-303 Heads, Aluminum 1.6 Roller Rockers, F-303 Cam, An Edelbrock 750 carb, (thats too big, going to a Holley 650 Double Pumper) i have the aluminum driveshaft, and a set of 4.10 gears. No ac, smog pump, high flow reverse rotation water pump, and as of now a Port O Sonic High Rise Single Plane Intake.

Uhhh....I had an Offenhauser Port O Sonic Single Plane intake on an old 375HP 351 Combo of mine. Needless to say I was very dissapointed with that intake, ended up getting rid of it and going with a Edelbrock Torquer II single plane that I had laying around. Anyhow, I'd say your combo would most defenitly benefit from an RPM Air Gap. Don't be afraid about the Dual Plane Status of these intake's... Like I said above they perform great to 6500 RPM and your engine probably stop's making power before that so it will work great for your combo. Overall throw on a Air Gap Intake and I'd also go with a 650 CFM Carb like you stated and I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the results.

Yeah duel plane is the way to go for low end power. The Edelbrock Performer series are by far the best options for street use. Like I said the RPM performer is a great intake, high rise duel plane, but the RPM Air Gap Performer is a step up from it, offering a slightly higher rise and for air flow than the regular RPM performer. It will definetly reach rpm's considerably quicker than the regular rpm performer does, but for a little bit more money. I'd say it's worth the extra money though, wish I would have paid the extra $$ and just got the air gap intake.

I have the Weiand Action + myself. It's pretty street friendly I think. I'm looking to change eventually though, something that will give me more high rpm HP.

Now, I am having a problem as you might be able to see in my pics on my cardomain page, but my K&N filter is sitting on top of my MSD Distributor, and that with the Port O Sonic High rise intake. Is the Performer RPM or the Air Gap the same height, or is it bigger/smaller?
