Good or bad deal?

Alright, to start off I don't post much here, I have a MX-6 LS but I love 5.0 Mustangs. And I always keep my eye out for a good deal. Well, I found a 94 5.0 stick coupe, dark green. It's for the most part stock and has a 183000 miles, the interior is leather and has holes and rips everywhere. The engine was loping a little, the *dealer* said this guy had some aftermarket stuff done but I didn't see any, so judging by the stock exhaust a larger cam is not an option. The engine otherwise sounded very strong, maybe running slightly lean but I'm not sure how the exhaust on a 5.0 should smell compared to my rich running import 2.5L. The passenger window seemed to stutter quite nicely, and the paint had a number of blemishes but was tolerable. The head lights are yellow, but for 220 I would get the smoked ones. It also had the Cobra rims. Now, the guy openly said he would give it to me for 2500 not taxed...what does everyone think? Give me some honest opinions here...Oh and it did have an orange ditsy cap, which is odd. Maybe he replaced it knowing that it was a problem spot, but the radiator looked stock. So I dont know about that. Anything is great, thanks

Did it change when the car warmed up or did it keep loping. My car is basicaly stock but does have a cam and it lops real bad when you first start it but smooths out as it warms up.

Mine does that also. I really do not think the car is worth it unless you really want to put alot of hours and money into it. If you think of the amount of money and work the interior is going to be alone it would put me out of the picture of buying that car. I say save up some more money and get a decent car. I bought my car with a perfect interior and a nice paintjob for 6300. It was quite a deal. The car was bone stock down to the air silencer.

IMO find a nicer car.

engine was warmed up and and still happened, I had thought that might change it but it didn't. My guess is that the car is not worth it unless I drop a new motor in there and I would find some junk yard stang to rip the relay for the window and the interior out of, and get rid of that the ugly gray ripped leather :nonono: But there are some odd chances, I was browsing and found this nice like Cobra for 6k, with 60k miles on it, red 94 with a 306

Hey man, yes as everyone said if your willing to do lots of work its fine... but I wouldent pay more than 1800 for it. Redo the interior as you like (possibly race seats etc) and drop in a nice 306 or a stroker and possibly a tremec tko if the T-5 is going south. THen do some suspension work and possibly some better brakes. YOu can have a nice 12-13 sec. car for under 15 grand thats made the way you like it. Oh that cobra sounds like a good deal...but as they said, make sure nothing is fishy with it.

what has really got my curiosity about the one stang, is the electrical system. Judging by the window and the speaker wires that ran to the trunk, it didn't seem like something that will hold up much longer. I know the car is OBDI but exactly how reliable are the electrical systems in the 5.0's
