Well, finished up the front brakes today, went for a drive and everything went well. They feel much better; the other ones were getting to the point where they were squealing and driving me nuts.

The flaring went good too. I went and bought a kit from Napa, pretty good kit, I think. Found this link for the tutorial

http://www.joesfalcon.com/gentip2/gentip2.html

I did a few practice runs on some spare stuff and then got to work on my car, done in an hour, then I fixed the rear(don’t tell anyone, but I had the calipers on wrong)

I still need to do the mastercylinder, bend new lines and figure out how I want to re-plumb the valve.

So now to knock out the rack and pinion, AOD and exhaust, it’ll hopefully go as smooth. I think I’ll ask for leave from work so I can concentrate on it.

Well, the progress continues……..

Thanks for the help guys…..

Nice work! You have no fears about the x-drilling cracking? I'm pondering the differences between plain, slotted, and xed and slotted. I think as long as you drive calmly on the brakes for as long as possible and warm them up before severe use you won't have to worry about such things.

Oh, so you've had x-ed and slotted rears and have only just put fronts on? Cool. I checked out your website too, like the work you've done!

Eric,

I think you have one of the nicest grande's I have seen. You have done such a beautiful job, and it really looks like you have excellent taste.

What kind of rack are you putting on?

Gram, thanks for the compliments, I got what I believe to be the last Tcp power rack made before hell broke out I ordered it in October is time frame and got it a few weeks later, I just considered myself lucky guess. I've still got a few small things to do, get a new power steering pump, kick-down cable and some other stuff, mostly small stuff.

My motor is really hurting though, my valve seals are probably in my oil pan, every time I start up after being warmed up, I get a small plume of smoke. Plus, I revved it pretty high a couple months ago; I think I did something, cus now it ticks in the morning when it’s cold, besides this, small thing but nothing mayor.

Route666, yes I did have the back on there, I did it on my last <a href="http://go-advertising.com?go=<a href="http://get-faster.com?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a>" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: <a href="http://get-certified.net?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a>';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''"><a href="http://get-certified.net?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a></a>, I needed new drums, so instead, I went with discs. This <a href="http://0-2u.com?go=<a href="http://go-all.com?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a>" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: <a href="http://0-2u.com?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a>';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''"><a href="http://0-29.com?go=loan" onmouseover="window.status = 'goto: loan';return 1" onmouseout="window.status=''">loan</a></a>, I needed new rotors, and I was planning to up-grade any way, so I did. I’m not at all worried, plus the holes are cast, I believe, and actually engineered as to where they are for strength so cracking is reduced. When the time comes, like everything else on my car it cracks, then I’ll replace it.
