Ryan isn't the ony one who gets good deals I got BRAND NEW in the box Maximum Motorsports Xtreme Duty Adjustable Lower Control Arms for a killer deal... these are $459 plus tax and shipping from MM, let's just say i didn't pay that god damn these things are nice! and solid! they weren't kidding when they said "Xtreme Duty"

D@MN YOU!!! Im jealous, I really NEED a set of those XD's for my notch... I had the HD's on my Mach, & although they are great quality, I have blown out the poly bushings 3-4 times already... XD's are the only way to go...

Mike and Dustin... I was hoping to get your opinions on the bushing situation... I've heard that I should get the rubber OEM bushings as they're easier on the torque boxes (mine aren't reinforced) and provide a smoother ride. Are these XDs less likely to blow out the poly bushings or something though or doesit have something to do with spherical bushings? Should there be rubber bushings in the uppers too? I'm not too well versed on this subject haha. Appreciate any help, thanks.

Go to the Maximum Motorsports website. They have a full article on control arms.

To sum it up, you want flexible rubber bushings on the uppers, and the lowers can have solid spherical bushings without causing too much more NVH. Without the rubber bushings on the uppers, you'll have too much suspension bind, which can lead to unstable handling.

I'm running the steeda uppers which are basically SN95 upper arms, boxed and zinced for cheaper than Ford wants.

They come with Energy Suspension poly bushings for the axle housing, but if you feel them they feel like solid plastic with no give. I cast them aside and bought OEM rubber bushings.

Maybe i'll toss the poly's on ebay and make a few bucks

+2 on both of these comments.... Stick with rubber diff bushings, & stock style uppers.

As far as the XD's are concerened, they suck, you might as well send them to me!!!


JK, those XD's are the way to go. I have the HD lowers on my Mach 1, & trust me, it doesnt take much to blow out the chassis end poly bushings. I have blown them 3-4 times already, & I rarely take the car to the track....That is pretty much the only gripe I have ever had with MM, because why would anyone want to replace there LCA's, & not be able to do hard launches on them??? Needless to say, I have a set of XD lowers without spring perches ( since I have rear coilovers) ready to go in the Mach, but I need to pick up the same set you did for my notch....

The minor increase in NVH is well worth it with all the traction you will have now, plus you cant beat the adjustability factor....

Ah I have a brand new set of these just waiting to go on the car if I could ever scrape up the damn money to finish out the project. XD lowers, boxed uppers 12 way shocks fully built rearend all just calling to me to finish it off.
