yada yada, was going 55 or so in a 45, on the phone, dad was telling me we probably cant afford a car to go to school in for me. (great...) saw cop tapped brakes to get to 50ish. ended convo with my dad, (lol?) pulled over, unlocked glove, put keys on dash had reg and liscence by time he got there, dude asked why i got pulled over told the truth, checked my **** out said he wasn't going to write a ticket for speeding but he was for no front plate (this is va by the way) and so he told me i can call the number on my ticket and pay it off, or most of the time if you go to court (have a date for that) w. a pic of car with plate on it, then they drop it. so i bit the bullet yesterday and drilled the holes back out and mounted the bracket and plate. half of it was my dad wanting me to and the other was me wanting to. i just got sick of worrying about it, and having it make noise squeaking around on my windshield.... now its done. it was very hard drilling holes in my car. im working my arse off over here, and soon will be selling my PSP in order to get my tokico blues and c springs to make it feel better.

go on and tell me im stupid and whatever you want, im having a hard time with life right now and i did want to ghetto rig the plate on...

anyways i have changed my oil about 300 miles ago, used 4 qts of 10-w30 and a qt of marvel, to clean stuff out and maybe stop the ticking. BS its worse, it sounds like one of those cars where the fan blade is whacking something. its terrible.... oil pressure is a little lower also. so i was thinking of doing another oil change and going 10-w40. decisions. i really am not worried about fixing everything now, i need to set moey away for school, and then do the stang up after i get out of school.

so normally at hot idle its around where the red line is. and when im turning more than idle it builds to the blue mark. both marks are on the white line to let you know. what are those numbers? is that good or bad ?

You are and +1 for asking.

Oil gauge looks fine, except those stupid blue and red lines all up on your chit. Just make sure check your oil on a consistant basis, oil change every 3 months or 3K miles I believe, and watch for anything abnormal.

I live in minnesota and you have to have a front license plate also. I took mine off cause it looked like ****, then i put a new bumper on to cover the holes and never put it back on. I love it without the front license plate. I also have illegal tint but the cops have never gave me crap about it. And i even got pulled over in my town doing 83 on a 50 and didn't get a ticket. I'm just lucky haha. The day i get pulled over for the license plate, i'll put on one of our dealer plates becaust then you only have to have one plate on the car. I'm so glad were a car dealer lol

my oil pressure is almost always at where your blue line is. it doesn't fluctuate much at all, with or without rev's. don't know what that means to u, but just thought i'd mention it. 5w-30 synthetic. i do have an new oil pump and refreshed engine though...

I'd have double sided taped the plate on long before I drilled holes in my bumper.

Im glad I dont have to have a front plate in GA.

I know how finances must be, I've been young. But, if you can raise about $50 you can get a nice Electric oil guage. I'm very sure you could buy one for much cheaper. Those stock guages suck.

As for the ticking, where is it coming from? You need to let us know. Crank it up and go check it. It could be the fan hitting the shroud if you've broken motor mounts. It could also be a rocker arm. It could be the speedo cable. Let us know

Yup i second the idea of getting a real gauge. Also i would suggest getting a mechanical oil pressure gauge instead of electrical...this way you will ALWAYS know what the oil pressure is. The stock gauge is horrible and the stock sending unit is even worse. My car fluctuates from 25psi at hot idle to 50psi at hot cruise. When you touch the gas it builds up to 50 almost immediately....and a WOT at high rpms i think its around 60psi. Thats how it should be. I think you car is fine.

My car sounds like a diesel running bad... But it is perfectly fine, and makes better power than the other motor, not to mention better gas mileage!

my old stock engine with 145k miles sat about midway and would move around with 10w40

now since i rebuilt it it sits where your blue line it ALL THE TIME, even during a hot summer day with 10w30

your looks fine.

but if really want and accurate reading get a nice guage, the stock ones dont tell you much.

Myns dived down at a hot idle to where your redline is for quite some time. Don't worry about it. Just keep your regular tabs on your oil, and if it it starts eating oil, then you start worrying.
