Allright guys, I think it is finally time to be getting around to my S-trim install.

I mocked up and went through the instructions tonite - everything looks straight forward except for just a couple items.

  1. Can someone post a closeup pic of their Vortech to TB connection?
  2. Anyone with a pic of how they cut their fender for the AFM powerpipe?
  3. Where are you tapping the boosted side for your reference vacuum/boost to drive a map sensor and the bypass valve?

My setup is:
  • AFM Powerpipe
  • 42lb FRPP Injectors
  • 90mm Lightning MAF
  • Vortech S-trim, stock pulley
  • Some little belt tensioner

Thanks everyone! :nice:

Wes

Here are some old pics of mine from like 4 years ago. I lost my new pics when my HDD crashed. Grrrr!!!! I dont have any pics of the powerpipe installation, but mainly you just need to measure like 20 times and cut once. You can also start with a small hole and cut it to fit as well. Just make sure you pull out the inner fender liner so you can pull back the wires that run inside the fender. You dont want to cut them. You can run a line from any other vacuum line for your map sensor. It can be from your intake, fuel pressure regulator, or anything. Just slip in a T-fitting and plug up the sensor. I ran mine off the line that comes from the intake to the FMU. You have the bypass setup on yours correctly in the picture, just connect the other end to the fitting on the powerpipe.

Thanks for taking the time to do that for me! Those are exactly the pics I needed!

Your engine bay looks cleeean - nice work.

I see you have a breather on your passenger side valve cover - do you have any PCV mods done? How is crankcase pressure?

Wes

Thanks! I just installed the breather and left the rest of the PCV system alone, except I capped the small nipple on the oil filler neck located under the breather. I have never noticed any problems, but the shortblock only has 30,000 miles as well. An engine with higher mileage and more blow by may need something additional.

i had to move my hole down alittle bit but hopefully this will give u an idea..
dont copy straight from mine though cause i cut mine alittle to high
this is a terrible thing to have to do to ur car it took me forever...
after ur done i suggest puttin a cut open vacumn line around it
also my powerpipe got scratched up while mockin up this so be careful
