Finally decided to step up to a 3G alternator since I eventually want to run a Mark VIII fan in my car. I got a complete kit from a guy who had been previously selling them on Ebay. It's a brand new (not reman) 170amp alt, same one that is sold by PA. Unfortunatly I won't be able to get it installed right away since my motor is out, but I'm slowing getting all my parts rounded up. If anyone is interested in one of these kits I'll send you the guys email. He also has new and re-man 120 and 130 amp kits, and you can get the 170 in black or blue powdercoat...

i did my own

is where i got the fuse and fuse holder

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=263-630

and 22 bucks for the 4ga wireing... and 4 bucks for the battery connectors

but you can get everything on the site that u need for the 3G alt upgrade but the alt^^

so about 35 dollars for the wiring... then go look on ebay for a new or remanin alt... so you can do it on ur own for about 135 dollars depends on what u want...

looks sweet, do you mind telling me how much?

I paid $180 for everything including shipping. I felt that was pretty reasonable for a brand new 170 amp alt. I think PA sells the same one for $200, without any wiring. I could have saved a few bucks by going with a re-man or used one, but I'm partial to new stuff

should be the ground strap located between the firewall and the intake. Its usually broken. Make sure the replacement is done in a good 4g wire. If you cant get something audio grade, just use a pre-terminaled cable for a battery ground. Autozone used to have them in foot long lengths.
