got my black bullit rims! need help choosing tires

i have 18x9 in front 18x10 in rear

i want to go bigger in the back

what are the best tires for my wheels?
i would like to spend no more than 500 if possible, moneys tite!

You'll have to search around for prices but I have 18x10s and 18x9s. I run BFG G-Force T/A KDW NTs 295/35/18 in the back and 275/35/18 up front. I love them. A very good tire for the money. I believe it was one of the cheapest 295 tires on discounttiredirect.com and alot of people really like them.

Looks like they dropped in price.

what do you say about nitto n555 245 40 18 front 275 35 18 rear?
do you think they will look good?

IMO I think 245s will be a little small for a 9 inch wide wheel. Don't most people run 245/40 on stock wheels?

If you're on a budget the 275/35/18 should be fine on the 10 inchers.

Don't base your purchase off of me though, I had stock wheels/tires on my last Mustang and these are the only ones I've owned for this one, and haven't changed tire sizes. Just my .02

My turning radius is like an 18 wheeler

I've got 245s on the front and I think they ar a little small, however I'm runnin 285s out back and love em, I am runnin the nitto 555s. They ran me 800 total

in my opinion, a 275 on a 10" wheel will look a little stretched.

tirerack.com has the best prices. i JUST ordered a set of 295/35/18 & 265/35/18 for my 18x9/18x10 FR500s. i went with the general exclaim uhp tires. the reviews are great. this tire is suppose to do very well in rain, resisting hydroplaning. very grippy in the dry. quiet and comfortable ride. lengthy treadwear as well. while these are pricey, its probably about the cheapest 295/265 combo you will find. i paid $797 shipped to the door

another option is the sumitomos. these dont hardly get the glory of the generals but they are cheaper. you can not get a 295 in these tho but you can get a 285. bear in mind that a 285 will look narrower compared to a 295 mainly because sumitomo (in this specific tire) runs a little narrower than its competitors ( Sumitomo HTR Z II )

price is right with the sumitomos. you can get two 285/35s and two 265/35s ( 275s are actually $7 cheaper each ) shipped for around $546

I would go with the sumitomos if you're tight on money. I use them, and have used them for many years now. A lot of people will bash them, and while they are not anywhere near the Best tire out there, they are Not a bad tire. I actually ran a 13.9 with a set of sumitomos in bone-stock form except for an o/r midpipe...

IMO they are hard to beat for the buck, plus since they are so inexpensive you can really have fun with them and burn on them without worrying about how much money you spent on them...

i agree.

i havent had any personal xperience with these specific 'tomo's but i have had two different sets of sumi's in 17" form. i was very happy with both sets. def hard to beat for the money.

I'm runnning some 18X9 & 18X10 Saleen's with 265/35-18 & 285/35-18 Nitto 555 Extreme's & they fit perfect on the rims!

Granted this was 4 years ago and I had 17x9 and 17x10.5 on my 03 GT, but I ran 275/40/17 and 315/35/17 Sumitomos and they were perfect...

Don't mind the 4x4 ride height...

Sumitomos on a budget, Goodyear GS-D3 if you have the bucks. Both are great tires IMO.

nice setups everyone! i ended up getting nankang 245 40 18 in front and 275 35 18 in the back they look great! $410 dollars for them which is a good bang for my buck

I hope your's will be better than mine. They were on my car when I bought them. And IMHO, they suck. Hooking was a joke on them, even on a stock automatic NPI. And they wore horribly as well. 10 passes at the track and there was a very noticeable wear on them. Front tires wore uneven, even after the car was aligned. They did pretty good in the rain, IIRC.

But like I said, maybe you'll have better luck than I did. Plus as you said, they're pretty doggone cheap.
