So ever since i have had my optima battery, it has NEVER been able to stay bolted down. The little BS wedge that came with the Optima red top is BS and would not hold mine down. Track techs at Willow Springs could pull my battery loose from the tray even when it was bolted down.

I was gonna do a Relocation to the trunk but i didnt really want that. I looked for a solution for a while and saw this online...

GRC Performance

GRC is about 35 mins from my house, so i hoped in the stang and went for a drive and picked up the Piece.

The Hold down is VERY nice. quality piece. I got a new OEM Ford Battery box and Battery hold down bolt just for good measure.

Its now a GREAT fit!!! The GRC hold Down keep the Red Top snug and tight... Its not coming out unless i unbolt it!!! i recommend this to anyone running and Optima Battery is a Stock Tray!!!

Optima Red Top battery FTMFL. I had one and ended up replacing it under warrenty 3 times because it quit holding a charge. They look nice, but are pretty much useless. My cheap Fleet Farm battery ($55)has lasted twice as long as my optima did, weighs the same, and didn't cost me $150 :nonono:

That piece looks good Handz. When I had my red top mine was never properly fastened down either. Nice that someone makes something for this.

I have never had a problem with my red top. The first one i had for 3 years till it died.... then i have had this one for 3 years and no issues yet!!!

$150 for 3 years worth of battery is too much IMO. Hell, the battery in my DD is over 6 years old and probably only cost $50 when new. Maybe it's different for you living in CA. Heat is what kills batterys anyways, and since it's only above 100* for a couple days/year and below 30* for at least 4 months here in MN, we probably get more life out of your standard lead-acid battery than you do in CA...

Yeah, the battery that dies went out after 3 years of INTENSE driving with LOTS of hot weather with AC on.... Plus the car used to sit outside all the time.

Heat messes up batteries.

My factory battery is 8 years old. Car starts immediately on the coldest days (-35* F and below) without issue. Not sure I can see the value in a more expensive battery that can't last half that time, especailly one that doesn't fit. Don't know anyone that has good things to say about Optima.
