Got rear-ended!!!!!

Well I stopped at the traffic light and the dumb SOB use my rear-end to stop:mad:
He hit me at about 20 mph I guess and did around $2k worth of damage according to the estimate.

They are going to replace:
Rear bumper, Rear face plate, Rear foam, both exhaust muffler to tail pipe and re-spray sonic blue.

My question is what else should I ask them to check apart from rear suspension, and a strange gearbox vibration that I notice since the accident last week?

Same exact thing happened to me. Bumper and supports, spare tire well was crinkled and my steering wheel was bent. Get them to replace engine mounts and tranny mount. That is what solved my vibration.

Happened to me too...some dumb blonde. I was cool about it since she was young and she wanted to handle out of pocket so i went to her house and we talked and swapped info. Well she was supposed to call in 2 days but didn't so i called her and her dad answers and starts yelling that i'm harrassing his daughter...So i tell him FU and screw the out of pocket i'm calling my insurance. My insurance guy calls me and says the guy is a real dick and demanding we go to his friends hillbilly body shop. I said F him and went to my friends and had a huge estimate done which his insurance had to pay because its the victims right to have it fixed where they want.

About three years ago I got rear-ended by a guy having a diabetic seizure. Hit me doing around 45mph while I was standing still. Did 10K damage to my car. They had to weld in a new trunk and replace inner rear panels and reweld my doors. My passenger window is still out of alignment. The one thing they didn't fix was my bent front bumper where I bounced off the lady in front of me... the facia looks fine so they left the bumper alone, but my fogs are out of alignment as a result. Sucks but I kept the car. I love my pony eventhough she's not perfect anymore but only my eyes can see it.

Thanks for the replies,

It all happend 6 days before my planned holiday to the UK.

So I get back from my planned Holiday only to find they body shop did a cappy job on the spay it has dirt or bits in the paint and the monkeys at the exhaust shop they sent it too did the worst job I have probably ever seen on an exhaust fitting. The left pipe is about an inch lower then the right the tips arn't even cut the same and the fitting below are a shambles in fact the exhaust it still tuoching the rear axle.

So I am not a happy camper right now. Auto Nation the ones that did the work said they will take care of bumper and the exhaust place Midas was the one that F#$ked up will take care of there mess.

And to top it all off they didn't send it to ford to have the vibration check out and gess what the vibration is still there

keep you posted..

I talked to the guy's insurance company and they told me that this is between me and the body shop basically because I choose the body shop.

See I wanted a Ford approved body shop to do the work, so I asked Ford who the used and they told me Auto Nation.

I am going to be talking to a lawyer next week because I am not going to take this crap from them!!

FYI never talk to the other party's insurance company directly. Let your insurance company deal with other insurance company, thats why you have ins. I'll tell them basic info and a discription of the accident and leave it at that. After that I wont answer their phone calls. It forces them to deal with your insurer directly.

Definitely don't talk to the other guys insurance. Only talk to yours. If you have to, sue yours to get them to do what you want with her's. I'm serious. The guy that rear ended me had no insurance so I had to sue my own company for extra damages and got all the money I needed. It's business, and nothing more. My insurance company paid big time and went after the guy that did the damage. My insurance did not go up and there is no hard feelings with the company I have used for two decades.

Get it done right and **** the loser shop that did your work.

I'm actually dealing (or not) with somebody about a parking lot bump I had a couple of weeks ago. I was backing out of a space, and the other driver was not paying attention as she was going down the lane.

I just have a couple of scratches, but her Honda Accord Ricer Bumper Cover got pranged up a bit. I told her - and my insurance agent - that I was going to handle it out of pocket. I still haven't gotten an estimate from the other person.

Guess what? The moment you tell your insurance company of the accident, claim filed or not, it's an accident on your record as far as they are concerned.
