Got something new....and its cool

Since the car has been sitting since 2005. I should probably just get a new gas tank. I was thinking of pulling it, checking it etc. but I am probably better off just having a new one ready to go in. The last car I did that had been sitting for only 10 years had rusted sludge an inch thick.

You never know, I almost ordered a new tank for my 83 as it had been sitting for over 20 years with about 1/2 a tank of San Franciso fuel in it.... I removed the tank and drained it and its like brand new.. So is the pickup tube and sender.... Crazy.....

Yeah, I guess it won't hurt to at least pull the tank and inspect it. They have the tank here in stock at the parts store so if it is bad I can go pick up a new one.

Got a new tank, fuel pump and hanger, sending unit, filler neck and seal. Everything was toast.

@Noobz347 I will see that tank, and raise you a tank plus a water pump and intake. My friends car I did last year that had been sitting for 20 years.

That’s a good omen…… I’m a little superstitious with numbers, so I bet that’s gonna be a good car!!

The cool part is that right under it says, "Certified Calibration". I guess that addresses any possible engine woes.

Started 5 lug swap today. Got my Cobra booster in and my 1994 front spindles. Rims are just rollers for now. Putting my 98 cobra wheels on when done.
