I got my x2c motorspots st upper and lower control arms. They have poly bushings in them. Also got the upper and lower torque boxes welded. It was kinda noisy afterthe subframe connector install and the new 31 spline rear end. Now its even more noisy. Its like everytime I do something to the rear end or suspension it gets noisier and noisier.

Is this common or is something wrong. Its only happening when the car is at a steady rpms. When the gas pedal is being pressed on it goes away.

Thanks
Josh

I can't tell if its coming from the suspension or the differential. I know its coming from the rear though. The best way to describe it is, Its a high pitched type moan, but not like the moan it did before i broke my rear end, when my factory posi was tearing up.

It is not a squeeky or a squak sound. It does not do it at 0mph. It only does it when its moving with no specific speed. Running over bumps doesn't cause it. Not sure if it does it around tight turns. It does not do it when i brake. Its usually in the 2000-2800 rpm range. I've noticed it only in 5th gear. But my car is loudthrough the other gears cause of exhaust

Oh yeah, just thought you guys would like to know. Before I took my car in to get the control arms installed. I pulled my quad shocks off cause there no longer needed. Both quadra shocks were busted (not even working anymore).
Just thought you guys with the qauds still on the car that drag race. Yours are probaly busted too.

Yeh, I'm leancing towards a gear whine now. The gear i had in the gear was changed over to the new carrier. frpp 4.10. I was on a budget when i was getting the rear end built up.

I have the same howl type sound coming from my rear end.. happened right after I got my gears installed... its weird becasue if I let off the gas it goes away, and right when I rest my foot back on the gas, its their..

the installer told me I would hear a little whine because you can never get an after market set of 4.10 gears to be perfectly quiet... I actually believe he is wrong now, I have heard alot of other peoples car and their gears sounds alot quieter then mine!!

Damn these shotty mechanics!!

yes gears will whine when you let the trottle off.

I did notice a bit of a vibration and whine after installing LCAs, UCAs, but I also removed the wishbone at the same time, at least I think thats the name (the weight on the rear diff)

That sounds like the bolts that hold your driveshaft to your rear-end have worked their way loose. I had this exact same thing happen to me and a 12mm box end wrench and some loc-tite red cured that problem.

yeah more commonly known as 'dogbone' but it has a real name  Mott Bar

MustangLife: I'm not going to dog your crappy control arms :D but whoever put them in greased the bushings right? I'm sure just like just like others have said that the whine is comming from the gears

high roller you are a victum of crappy install.

see if you can move your pinion up and down by grabbing the pinion flange ( where the driveshaft bolts up) if it moves your pinion is loose.
