I called the local ford dealer to get a tailshaft bushing, the first one I called said he could get it in a day or two it would cost$8.56,the second one argued with me that the 92 and up bushing is incorporated in the T/S housing, funny since I just drove the bushing out easily with a socket, the third dealer said that it is incorporated into the t/s housing and that the part went obsolete last year, as of last year it was $408.00 he said that he did have a listing with a seperate bushing but that was for 89 and older cars, and if I wanted to try that I would have to buy 3 since they only come in pacs of 3,why would I want 3 im not a shop im not getting tax brakes.any way I said to the dealer that they are prolly the same since the driveshaft sleeves into the bushing and as far as I know the yolks are the same for most year stangs.

You guys know the rubber piece that goes in the fuel tank (to prevent the filler neck from rubbing directly on the tank?

The Ford dealer charged for $28 for that stupid piece of rubber.... and that was with the Ford employee discount of 10%....

Most parts guys will mark up the price. Luckily my parts guy gives it to me for what the dealer actually gets it for. I got the fuel neck grommet for 12 bux. Plus you have to understand that sometimes the parts guy doesnt have a clue what youre talking about (not a tech after all) so they might give you a bogus price to cover their ass. Some of our cars are going on 20 years old, if you want cheap parts go to a generic parts store but sometimes you get what you pay for.
