What color is the grille supposed to be. I am looking at a fog light kit that has everything. The grille is silver. Mine original grille with non GT bars is black and looks like it came that way. I kinda like how it looks the way it is right now. I'm not sure if I'll like how it looks with the silver grille.

The grille, if it is the correct style grille, will have the honeycomb-looking mesh in it. The 1964 & 1/2 grille in my Coupe is a blackish-grey color, if I remember correctly. There is probably a name for the color but I don't know what it is called. The fog light grille and the standard grille in the 1965 Mustang is the same grille. You shouldn'y have to buy a new grille to install reproductions of the factory fog lights. Do some checking around to be sure you don't need to install additional brackets in the grille to support the heavier fog light bars in the grille.

From what I have read the grille is different. I have seen a picture of them side by side and the mounting location is different.

I think it depends on what Mustang parts catalog you look at. CJ Pony Parts pictures look like the grille is the same. Several other sites show the grille having the mounting tabs in different locations.

I do know that the 66 has a different style of grille than the 65's honey comb.

Mine is broken anyway. I wonder if the GT grille is the silver gray color like the picture in the link on my other thread.

IIRC it's called Argent. It has a kinda blue-green-silver tint to it.

Tim65GT, thanks for the pic.

That looks a lot like the color of my original grille.

I thought that argent was more of a medium/light silver/gray color.

I got the fog light kit from CJPony. I hope the grille is more the color of yours like it is supposed to be.

I found a can of spray paint at a couple of places that is specifically for the 65 grille. One says blue/gray color and another says warm gray color.

Thats a nice looking engine compartment by the way. Whats the box on the driver side inner fender?

Do you know where the wiring is supposed to be routed for the fog lights. I read that there is already a hole in the bottom of the dash for the switch and that the breaker is mounted to a bolt on the wiper motor. Is this correct? Where is the wiring supposed to go through the firewall?

Also, I don't want to wire the fog lights up to the tail lights. So, would I be able to not connect the wiring coming off of that terminal and still have the lights work?

I guess I should have put this post in my other thread.
