Passenger side, under the door, this piece of plastic on my car is showing the push pins, and is somewhat loose, but no danger of it falling off.

There's a screw inside the rear wheel well holding the end, and also quite a few push pins holding the assembly on underneath the car. All of those are good.

I tried pushing the trim back on, in fact braced myself against a wall, and with my feet pushed it back flush against the car, but as soon as I relieve the pressure, it pops back out. I have about a 1/4" gap that I can see maybe 5 or 6 of the pins through.

Any suggestions?

A year and model would be helpful. Don't want to assume it's an 94-95.

Try some double sided tape as a temporary, cheap solution and see if that helps.

Depending on if the piece is warped or damaged, the repair/fix may be more extensive.

sorry; it's a '94. I thought everything posted here was supposed to be '94 or '95 related.

It is but posting errors happen, lol.

Is there any reason for not replacing some of the push pins with a nut and bolt (cap screw)?

Yeah, I don't think you can get to these in a way that would allow using a screw. The ones on the bottom of the chassis would lend themselves to that, but I it appears the ones that clip just below the door wouldn't.

If someone knows something different I'm open to suggestions on how to tackle this. It's almost like the molding itself is slightly warped to the point it doesn't want to lock in.

maybe the molding is straight and the rockerpanel is bent from the previous owner.
maybe the pushpins are worn for some reason, you could try some new push pins

yeah, I just need to bite the bullet and if necessary sacrifice the pins under the chassis to get to the ones inside the ground effects- -
