Progress Thread Grover: Window motor replacement & OEM rebuild

foxbodyfx is one of the "influencers" that was out there. He pulled me aside for some pics. This is the only one posted so far.

There's also this post where I got a pic or 2 at foxtoberfest:

Got some attention from Youtuber Blue Oval Media at Foxtoberfest:

Grover is and always will be one of my all time favorites . I always lusted over it . I’m glad it stayed in the family here .

Only thing that drives me nuts and I know it helps with handling is the forward offset arms . Just aesthetically always throws me off.

those are MM standard offset arms, witht he MM K I think it is 3/4" forward vs the forward offset which I believe was 1.5"

***edit unless Chris changed them

Totally got ya , like I said it know it serves function - my ocd just kill’s me cuz I love your old car / his car so the wheel not being centered I’m like why did mm have to do that ! lol

But all of our cars have little quirks we can all pick apart . That’s what makes them our own .

No change there. MM subsequently came out with setup that keeps em more centered. However, if I put them on Black Jack, I would do the same thing as GroverDill did. Function over form for me... most of the time. I'm not hacking up the fenders for the 1.5" offset, though.

@Noobz347 what's up with the bold text since post #306? Somehow I got this post to unbold, but I tried to go back an edit one of the others and couldn't get it to unbold.

Grover is resting comfortably under its cover in the garage. It's driveable and will make it to Foxtoberfest again this year, but the McLeod Original Street Twin clutch drags a bit unless it's adjusted way too far. Michael Bell, who rebuilt the motor last year, is concerned that with as much pressure as it's adjusted to put on the pressure plate to ensure disengagement, it will cause premature wear of the thrust bearing. So, I intend to get in there and do this clutch job myself, this time, measuring absolutely everything and ensuring everything is to spec. I guess the McLeod OSTs are so particular on installation that the couple shops I had attempt it screwed it up. I will do a gnat's-ass install to the spec McLeod gave me, and if it still has problems, then I'll be done with that type of clutch forever and either move back to a Spec Stage III+ single disc, or a different twin-disk.

Since this is your thread:

Heads up for updates coming soon. I think most of the old-heads traverse this thread so here's your advanced warning. LoL

I'll try to give another heads up when buttons are to be pushed.

As it turns out, the [font] on threads didn't change. How they are drawn is what has changed. It's one of those 'green grass grows all around', kind of stories. :O_o:

Not to worry tho... BIG update coming soon so, other things will invariably change too and [then] there will be updates to the plug-ins we use for the new update. :D

That's when when we start looking for needles in haystacks and that occurs over several months (as some of you may recall). So... JOY! :rabble:

 I hate change.
Ah......if it ain't broke, keep fix'n it????

Well.... One of the [things] is keeping this place secure and free of SPAM, intrusions, and the like. You already know it's a priority around here. Sometimes, we break stuff because even though it was "cool" it might also be a vulnerability.

That's all I got for, "Erm, change is bad M-kay?".

Other times, we get new :poo: to play with. :D
