but if it makes you feel better, today I went out to the garage and I found a small oil drip on the floor.

I was outraged, and was about ready to park the car in the driveway with a "Fo' Sale" sign on it when I realized that my wife had parked her Expedition in that spot earlier.

ohhhh, its getting an AOD rebuilt with a shift kit , dont worry, im doing it right

It's not so much that I am in favor of the AOD rather that it will fit into your budget much easier and won't require as many changes to the car.

I'm planning to go with an AOD as well; where are you planning to get yours? Doesn't Art Carr make a built AOD?

Im just gonna get a core and do the TCI rebuild kit, its what they use to make their AOD Dominator transmissions

I think you need to pony up for a one piece input shaft and stronger 3-4 shift components. They come in the Carr, and with a Carr, I believe you get a warranty.

you are going to have to buy an AOD converter and flexplate too. Might as well put a small stall converter in there. Thats going to cost a few hundred in itself.

ok, someone help me out. heres the deal.

im setting aside $1000 for the AOD. What should I get? I want to get the TCI Dominator rebuild kit. I think thats worthwhile. Thats $300. Ron said he can build a custom crossmember, so I dont need that. I need a custom aluminum driveshaft, thats about $150 I guess. So what else do I need??? and what should I get??? Remember, dont go over $1000

That's a darn good deal for the driveshaft but go larger diameter steel! Just MO..
