I think I spent somewhere between 25 and 26 hrs sanding, polishing both the upper and lower over 3 month process
So I guess you could say.... about 1 hrs a weekend from Nov. thru Jan since i don't do anything on the car during the week.

Looking at those dyno graphs makes my wonder why anyone would buy a cobra intake. I can see buying a tubular gt-40 just for the looks if its that important to you...but the cobra was by far the worst performer out of the three. Especially b/c they are all made in China right now that the quality is s hit. The explorer intake absolutely rocks for the price! Cant beat it in my opinion!

what would the valve springs have to do with my power fallin off at the top end?? not tryin to be a smartass im jus curious. the motor is all stock with bolt ons and it need a h/c/i on it to get the power i wnat

You said it starts dropin in the mid-upper.Weak springs=valve float

the cobra is behind by like 5-8hp at the most. I highly doubt you will notice the difference. I could see going with it if you wanted your motor to look like a stock cobra.

I'm not a fan of the typhoons for many reasons. I'm content with my GT40. I just have to send the lower to Tmoss for porting for the trick flow heads. I've been polishing the upper, but am losing patience. I think I'll either get it chromed or powder coated.

Dyno numbers in my sig.....Eddy small valve heads and a simple Comp XE series mild cam. Notice the AVG numbers as well as the peak, they are excellent IMO for a Typhoon intake that was removed from the box and installed directly onto the car without being touched.

As for looks..I run the polished version and yes I have had some positve comments regarding the engine bay in my day.

Poor casting quality, and the fact that it's a theft of an edelbrock design. By purchasing that, you reduce any incentive for edelbrock to come up with a new design. Why bother doing the R&D if someone is going to copy and undercut you.
