Gt-40 turbo swirls... one q.

ok i just got my GT-40 turbo swirl heads from diversified. (buyfordracing.com) and i was wondering, do the need the washers on the headbolts to be able to bolt to a 302. i kno they need regular washers, but do they need those reducer washers rather than standard ones? and one more thing, i bought ARP head bolts (w/ thread sealer and assembly lube) did i get the right ones? Summit PN: 154-3701

one more thing, can i reuse stock rockers? for a short time only, just until funds come in so i can buy roller rockers. which roller rockers do you suggest?
You can run stock rockers but they will flex more due to the higher spring rate.

Depending on which cam you are running and what your goals are there are many different types of rockers to buy.

I prefer Comp Cams Pro Magnums myself. :nice: But I'm not sure they make bolt down rockers.

Always a favorite is the Crane 1.7 Energizer rockers.

OK, how about these ones? the these are trick flows and they are a little over 15 bucks cheaper... or should i just save the money?
QUOTE]

if youre looking for cheap ones, go with proform, summit sells them, my company (www.ramchargers.com) sells them also, they're good quality, fully machine aluminum body bolt down rockers, and no the pro magnums arent offered in bolt down, stud only, even though i think those kick a$$.

Just go to ebay for the rockers, 1.7 ford motorsport rockers are a dime a dozen. Likely you will pay $125 or less. There's not a whole lot of differences in pedestal mount rockers.

ok, im going with ebay for rockers and trick flow for washers... thanks alot guy i kno i have asked a lot of questions. now with those trick flow washers, i just ditch the washers that came with the bolts right?
Yes. You would no longer have to use the washers that came with the bolts.

Just an observation but you could have gotten the stud kit for another $20 over what you are going to spend. The arp bolts are $40 and the step washers needed are like another $45. That only puts you $20 shy of the stud kit. It is only $109 and comes with everything needed and will give you a much better seal on your head gaskets because they torque a lot more even. Just an idea for you.....

and btw, I bought those exact heads and I'm very satisfied with them. $700 is a great deal and they need nothing extra except for the smog bolts.
