I didn't end up doing that. I never understood how that actually plays into things.

Velocity. There's a good article in this months NMRA race pages about Livernois working with a set of 3 valve heads. Alot of times guys will add material to the port to keep the port volume down, while opening up another area. You did a good job with those heads, but if you opened up the ports to 225cc (not possible on that head), then its not that great.

Just compare the dyno numbers between a set of GT40X (~170cc) heads to that of AFR-165 heads wich have less port volume.

Interesting. Yeah I never thought about that much. I just tried to flow them well without taking much out. Talking to the local guru, he just told me exactly where to port, how much to take out and how it should be shaped. I just went by his advice with the exception of not following through on the exhuast (mistake).

AAHHH WELL, we shall see once (IF) I get it running again and dyno tuned. Once I get the VC's and valve springs, I will be rolling on it again. Which reminds me, I still need to order a new balancer damnit.

All Ford parts suck. Just let it go Tom.

J/K of course. You and your friends are putting down some very impressive numbers with the factory stuff.
