While looking on a Ford dealers lot I saw a real nice '01 V6 coupe. The only thing I saw that kinda turned me off is the size of the wheels. What's needed to be able to use 17" wheels? Any problems with using the larger wheels?

Larger rims will use lower profile tires to keep the speedometer the same. They're generally more expensive, so keep that in mind when buying larger rims.

i have an 03 v6 and put on stock '04 17" gt rims from my brothers car and didnt do anything special. i just threw them on and drove. you dont to my knowledge you dont need low profile tires. my speedometer seems to be right on, maybe off by a mile or two per hour (who gives a s**t). the only problem i found is that when u turn the wheel to the absolute maximun to the right or left there is some minor rubbing in the wheel well. i just dont go all the way and i am fine. no problems here.

Did you put on the rims with the existing tires too? They were low profile too werent they? May already be sized properly for the V6 as well; may not be a big difference if any between GTs and V6s in that department... someone who knows will have to verify that...

The GTs I believe have 245 instead of 225...maybe 45 i think instead of 55 all i no is that my CobraR's are wrapped with 275 45 17 17x9's and feel just as nice as they look....tires will be expensive esp. the ones i have on it already
