I have my GT40 upper intake off the car for my headswap, and noticed a very glaring feature in the design. The two bolt holes that run vertically down the main inlet are very restrictive and cut downthe cross section of the inlet signifigantly. Looking at it, I think I could use 2 short bolts and just attach the them at the bottom of of the upper intake to the lower. Then I could eliminate the two bolt housings restricting the inlet. How would I go about this. Cut them off and weld some new material back on that allow the inlet to retain ita maximum diameter throughout. Can this be done? How involved would this be, would a shop be able to do it for me, I suck at welding aluminum. Or am I just talking out of my a**...........
