All, I am considering putting in an explorer engine, and I know I need to upgrade the valve springs.
I don't know everything that needs to be done.
Is it just the springs that need to be replaced?
If so, can I get a set of stock GT springs that my car runs now for them? (new of course)
I know trick flow makes a kit, but that kit comes with much more than just springs. Is there a reason for this? Does all of this stuff need to be replaced?
Is this something that I should leave to a shop that does heads?
Since the heads are still on the motor, I have read that there is a tool that comes in the trick flow kit to replace the springs as it sits. I am assuming that this would mean that the valves don't need to be reseated since they are sitting there in their natural spot.
If I do this on heads that are off the engine I am assuming that I will need to reseat the valves. Is that correct?
