gt40_2003wes *OFFICIAL* 2011 NFL Thread

I dont remember the Giants ever beating them by more then 3 points so I dont see where the stomping part is coming from and I dont foresee the same out come this time around.

Wes, funny how you talk about band wagon fans when you went from being a packers fan, to a jets fan to a vikings fan, then back to a packers fan :rlaugh:

I didn't say blowout, i said Stomp.. We "stomped" em last time in the superbowl. PS: Giants won this season by 4. Just sayin.

However, I do think this will be a game of possession. Whoever ends with the ball, will win.

I was pretty damn close, and how can you call it a "stomping" when the last 3 times these teams have played the combined total that the patriots have lost by was 10. Id say they have all been pretty damn close and a good match up. A stomping is what the Giants did to Atlanta in the wildcard round.

And I'm not even counting the first time they played again after the superbowl loss and they did win that game. Also if you look back at my post I never said blowout, I said stomp just as you said it, so where are you getting the blowout part from?

I'm at work and half reading things. I'm retarded lol. my bad

I'll just notch it up to you being a giants fan, no biggie :D

mrvax-

I had $18.00 in my account at bodoglife.com, threw it all down on the Patriots winning straight up. No point spread no O/U. If they win I'll turn the $18 into $31.00. I'm not big on betting other then with $10 on some games with a few guys at work. I'm ok with betting with Vegas on a Super Bowl game but I wont make other bets, I just see it as bad karma.

They last time these two teams played all the hype was on the Patriots, all the pressure for the undefeated season, all the talk was about the Patriots. Even though Vegas favors the Patriots by 3 points all the talk is about the Giants, all the pressure has been on the giants as far as being in playoff mode going back to the last few games of the regular season.

Dating back to the last meeting whenever these two teams have played the games have been really close and I dont expect this to be to different. The patriots have weapons they did not have before...Gronk/Hernandez while the giants also gained players such as Cruz they have also lost key guys such as Strahan. You can make arguments all day long for players lost/gained on each side but I think the patriots come out better over all. I expect willfork to wreck Eli all day long he is someone not spoken much about but he is playing at a really high level right now. Eli was put down a lot in the SF game and I see the patriots front 4 doing something similar. I dont see the giants coming in with the same game plan they had last time as far as putting brady on the ground and being able to execute it. The patriots will not allow that to happen. If there is one thing about the NFL it is that trends are often broken and expect the unexpected. With that said I see the Patriots ending this season with double redemption of taking out the Ravens previously to revenge the playoff loss to them a few years ago and taking out the giants in the Super Bowl to revenge the 07 season for a final score of Patriots 24 Giants 17

Also the Patriots are playing for something they were not playing for in the last meeting, something they have been playing for all season, something that has been a huge motivational driving factor.......MHK....Nuff Said.

Venom- I belong to a big Giants fan website www.bigblueinteractive.com.
I can tell you that no one is underestimating Vince Wilfork. It's a nightmare to block the guy. I totally agree with you about the game being won/lost/played differently than 2008. I think the Pats have about 8 guys from that team, Giants have only about 15.

They played in the regular season this year so I'd expect both teams to play similar. Pats fans have to hope Gronk is close to 100% because the Giants D has improved. Giant fans have to hope the passing game takes advantage of the New England secondary.

It really could go either way. BTW: I only bet a little myself. I always have to remember "how much money can I afford to lose"? LOL

May the best team win and the refs not make any real bad calls.

I hope the refs are not a factor at all I hate games that are effected by that. I know those more in tuned with the game know that wilfork is a force but when you watch just general coverage about the game you usually only hear brady, welker, gronk, manning, cruz and the giants front 4

I like what I have seen so far. The giants only had one drive that put up points in the first half, the Patriots had 2 and that was with only having the ball once in the first qtr. They made a huge mistake of 12 guys on the field on the fumble that cost them points and the safety was just ignorant but they have the lead and get the ball back once again.

just a prediction but I think gronk is playing possum and he will be used much more in the second half. They would have thrown the ball to him a lot more if he had the shot at the start of the game. They have hernandez so why waste gronk in the first half? I think he'll get the shot at half time and come out and start eating up yard and TD's in the second half especially from the 30 yrd line in
