I have been looking at getting gt40p heads on ebay. They seem to be a good price. Now do they just bolt on, or is there something else i would need to do to them? Change anything? I am also getting ready to put on a edelbrock performer intake upper/lower with a 70mm throttle body. Would they go good together? I dont want to spend the money on more expensive heads. They are worth more then my car With that being done and full exhaust which is also sitting in my basement, what kind of time do you think my car would run? 14.1 now with only cold air intake and pullys. So after the intake manifold, headers,h pipe throttle body and heads. Im sure lots of people here have similer setups, post those times

The heads will bolt on to the engine block & manifold with no problems. The GT40-P heads angled the spark plugs differently from stock, so there are some headers that have clearance problems between the flange/tubes and spark plugs. Look for a new set of FMS stainless steel shorties, since they are supposed to clear the GT40-P heads. I am sure that there are other makes of headers that clear too. Stay away from MAC headers, they don't fit once they have gotten hot and you remove them to do any maintenance.

I had to remove my passenger side Mac 1-5/8" shorty header last year.It had been on the car for about 7 years.

It went back on with no problems. All the bolt holes still lined up..Guess I got lucky.

my macs have been on and off my car a few times with no problems. you might want to add a cam to the list. with a good 60' it should be good for low 13's maybe even high 12's.

The older Mac's had that "heating" problem...that is quite gone now...but a good point none-the-less.
