I am going to bolt on some P heads soon, and am trying to figure out what RR's to use. I know they are pedestal mount rockers, so I am thinking these:

Proform Parts 66878 - Proform Pedestal Mount Extruded Aluminum Roller Rocker Arms - Overview - SummitRacing.com

I did a search and am coming up with bits and pieces of info. Is it as easy as bolting on a set such as those above, or is there more to it? I have read about conversion kits, but what are they and what all is involved? I already have Thumper porting and installing new valves and springs, so I dont really want to do any additional machine work once the heads show back up on my door step. Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

Never heard of the ProForm brand. I would make sure it's not Chinese junk before you bought them. It's not a whole lot more money for a more established brand like Scorpion, Omega Gear, Comp Cams, etc.

Just to be more clear about my earlier statement. If you can verify that those ProForm rockers are not Chinese junk, by all means get them.

Im not set on that brand by any means, just wondering if I am looking at the right style rocker in general? I dont have to do any kind of conversion do I? I'll be running with a stock cam, so there wont be a whole lot of stress on them.

Oh, sorry. Yes, that is the correct type of rocker. Those are a 1.7:1 ratio. Stock is a 1.6:1 ratio.

Thanks Kurt, I had looked at a couple other brands that said "machine work required on Ford iron heads," so I was doubting myself. I am going to step up to 1.7's since Im not changing the cam. Now I just need to make up my mind on a brand. :nice:

Seems like I remember several threads about Proform rr's failing

Might wanna do a search :)

Thanks for mentioning that Grady. I decided on Scorpion 1.7's. I found them for $242, so that isnt much more than the Proforms at $175. :nice: I just wanted to make sure I had the right style picked out before I jumped into anything. Im getting really excited now that my parts pile is stacking up. Once the garage warms up my wife is gonna feel like Im cheating on her. :)
