What is the maximum lift for the stock springs? Also would it be a good idea to smooth the intake runners?

Somebody must know this. I didn't find any info while searching, just that the stock springs aren't that good. I'm going to be running a TFS 1 cam.

personaly i would upgrade the springs before any aftermarket cam. wouldnt want to risk foating a valve into the piston

How do I know what springs to get for my heads?

Get the trickflow spring kit for ford iron heads. I can't recall what the pn is. It runs about $130 from summit iirc and includes springs, retainers, locks, shims, seals and an installed height checking tool. I have them on p heads and they went on real smooth.

Did you do the install yourself or did you have a shop do it? I hear I should have a shop do it but I'm really on a budget right now. I have class everyday this semester.
